What is FOSS? It means Free and Open Source Software and it is built in such way where users can use it in any purpose and redistribute it. Basically it is developed collaborately which can be used openly. Generally it is stated that FLOSS and OSS are fundamentally different. Most of the programs which form the backbone of the Internet are Open Source software. Using FLOSS schools can save money on back-office programs, use programs that can be used freely and shareable, customize programs for their specific needs. Firefox security is an open source and it is very widely used. We use Firefox at ISD as well. It is a great software that can be used instead of Internet Explorer. Firefox helps block pop-ups and many more features included that Internet Explorer does not contain.
